Performance Measurement and Control

Business success is unlikely to be achieved without an effective approach to the management of performance. A key factor here is ensuring that there is a clear linkage between strategic objectives and individual and team targets through a top down cascade approach that is also influenced from the bottom up. Important areas to address are:

  • The identification of appropriate measures of performance (both financial and non-financial) for organisations.
  • Appropriate training of management and staff.
  • Introduction and monitoring of measures.
  • Interpretation of results.
  • Devising and implementing action to improve performance.

The Support Group has helped various organisations to develop and implement structured performance management systems including those based on the Balanced Scorecard, the EFQM Excellence Model.
