Christopher Garner
Chris is a Maths and Management Science graduate from Manchester University
(UMIST). He has followed an HR career through general management into
consultancy. He has worked for ICL, for the energy sector (British Gas,
Kuwait Oil Company, Solus Ocean Systems) and the public sector (United
Nations) at home and in the Middle East, where he was Adviser to the Bahrain
Housing Minister for seven years.
Chris has worked for Hay Management Consultants across the full range
of consulting. Clients in the first five years were particularly drawn
from the public sector, its emerging agencies, the NHS and privatised
utilities.
Latterly, he led and worked on large projects in international teams for
multinational clients, particularly in the utilities and banking sectors.
He is particularly focused on helping organisations improve their performance
through an integrated approach to people management. He has particular
strengths in performance management, organisation design and effectiveness
and management development at senior levels. He is a seasoned practitioner
in the use of competencies to give competitive advantage.
